Tom Waits - Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers, & Bastards since it's fitting for your brown tinge chart and has a bit of that blues/jazz thing in some of your chart music.
>>73758186
I wish Bromst got more love; it got overshadowed way too much by MPP.
Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca since it's kinda indie, kinda psych, very slightly experimental, kinda pop like a lot of stuff on your chart.

I am surprised there is no Acid Mothers Temple on here. Start with La Novia if you want something more droney akin to Fishmans or Boris; or start with New Geocentric World Of Acid Mothers Temple for something slightly more traditionally psych like King Gizzard.

>>
>>73763437
Those three Shub Niggurath records are more than an indication of the zheul on your chart, not to mention how fucking stupid having more than one record per artist on a chart is to begin with.
>>
>>73763437
thanks for projecting your insecurities on an anonymous web board
>>
>>73763487
This isnt a top list mate, its just what Ive been listening to this week, most of them are relistens because I know this will shock you; I like these albums.
>>
>>73763535
That's great and all, but it still doesn't justify having more than one at all. Just gets annoying for people who actually have to look at your chart. I usually make recent listen charts as well, but I would never inflate them with more than one record per artist even if I usually have been listening to more than one. It's pointless and doesn't serve as something that really teaches the anon looking at your chart more than they would need to know.
>>
>>73763487
>not putting all your favourite albums even if it means heavy representation by your favourite artists
unless every artist you listen to releases albums with the exact same sound over and over there is utility in it
>>
>>73763616
No there isn't because it's implied then that you have probably checked out that artist's other stuff as well.
>>
>>73763579
That seems to be reasonable; unfortunately, this is all ive listened to this week.
>>
>>73763664
what if artist X has released 3 albums, A B and C. each one has a totally different style and sound palette. X fans often spend time arguing with one another over which is the best. many X fans only like A, or only like B, etc. in such a case, seeing A on a chart actually does not imply anything about whether you like B and C. you might even hate them. but if you like all three and want reccs that sound like anything any of the three albums were going for then it would behoove you to include all three.

>>
>>73763323
So now that I got over my initial overeaction; is entry level zeuhl even an actual thing? Entry level typically derides a set of bands for being more accessible exemplars of its genre but with zeuhl, it all consistently inaccessible (aside from Weidorje perhaps) and great.
That is unless you do consider Japanese zeuhl superior; at least in terms of inaccessibility.

>>73763819
>But you have listened to them, right? That's what matters.
i don't think this addresses the point i had made. without the information there, a person who is looking to make recommendations has no way of knowing if the chart-maker likes the other albums' styles or not. yes, the chart-maker is almost certainly aware of the other albums, but whether they like them or not is anybody's guess. i'm also not sure what you mean about not considering that charts are made up of multiple albums. you can always make your chart bigger. this is the digital age, your canvas is infinite. i suppose you value succinctness more than i do when i comes to creating a chart of what music you like. but i personally think it makes more sense to include all the music you listen to with great frequency, especially when it comes to artists with a more eclectic catalogue and you are looking for reccs similar to any of the styles they explore

No shit, I am thinking from the perspective of the person that actually has to look at the chart, not the one making it. Making bloated charts, or not having the artist/album names on the side is selfish and missing the point that one is posting a chart for others to check it out.
>a person who is looking to make recommendations has no way of knowing if the chart-maker likes the other albums' styles or not
If it's a recommendation worth making, then it'll probably be closer to the style of the record on the chart itself as that's implied to be that anon's favorite. Besides, if such exact recs is what you want, go to the discogs section of particular albums instead, that's more effective than /chart/

In all honesty I already feel this way as far as time is concerned. Id love to check out more underground post punk groups, listen to the hardcore essentials, enjoy some funk and become a jazz guru but i havent been able to go at it at anything more than glacial pace!

How have your tastes changed? I used to be crazy about metal, now i wonder why I ever liked that stuff. I mostly listen to prog and have never looked back; such a diverse genre.
>>
>>73767757
not him but metal is the only genre I feel like I've grown out of. When I was like 14/15 and stopped listening to a lot of pop punk and listened to a lot of heavy death/black/thrash because of an older friend I had. There are still some shit I like but a lot of just seems to be generic to me nowadays.
I still like melodic doomy stoner stuff but thats almost closer to blues or pop at times

I wasnt really into music until I was 16; so I have the fortune of never getting into many genres that Id otherwise grow out of XD. In addition to metal, I feel like Ive outgrown 'normal' rock in general; most rock with standard verse chorus structure sucks ass to me.
Funnily enough, though I thought Id outgrown video game music; this wasnt the case and I dont think itll hapoen anytime soon.
