Sounds great being that it's Italian, I sort alike the fact that I can't understand them and I just get the emotion. But the reason it's staying at average is that without the foreign angle, they aren't really doing anything different with the genre, you can find this song and feel in many other bands.

That is why you should use the 5 point scale.
1 - Not good - This can range from it not really being a song, to really poorly made work. The artist had absolutely no control, or this was just a poorly made accident, or totally over the artists head and capabilities.
2 - Obvious failings - Where you can tell some work went into the song, or one thing sticks out. But it just doesn't work as a full song. The artists slip up, and it hampers the rest of the song.
3 - average, not special - This is a song, but it doesn't speak to you on any level but it "works". Like most pop. To reach this level, you have to at least have to have control of the song, the artist didn't just throw some shit together.
4 - above average - The song works and happens to have a catchy hook or interesting vocals. Something about this song is special, most of these are on seminal albums or chart toppers. Not only does the artist have control, their artistic vision is realized to some extent but not enough to truly make the song memorable through the years.
5 - Very good - These are the songs that codify artists, calling cards. Magnum Opi, the artist was in total control and brought their artistic vision to full fruition.
tl'dr: Smaller numbers mean more.
