What a masterpiece A Day in the Life is.

I don't know, it's too loud. Originally it was a great way to end the record, you know, the resolution to it all. Now, with every new re-release they keep augmentin the volume to "this is our great statement, final chord of the universe" level. Listen to the original mono master, it was never that loud.
Anyway, sorry I'm blabbing. It's the best rock song ever made.

Maybe it's just me, but there is a certain clarity to it that wasn't in the original stereo, like they made some of the instruments more presence to give it another sound, which I prefer

for a guy trying to earnestly get into The Beatles for the first time is there a recommended album order, or just release?

I listened in in order from their debut and it's an amazing experience that I highly recommend. It emphasizes their creative changes as a band over time.
