Venom is good. I would put Welcome to Hell, Black Metal, and At War with Satan on the same level as Show No Mercy and Slayer is among my favorite bands and that's one of my favorite albums.

Based Tom. He's seriously underrated, he has some of my favorite vocals in metal. I really wish more thrash had his style of being harsh yelling but not in the realm of death metal.

Back in 1985 I saw Exodus, Slayer and Venom on the same bill.

You don't need any Venom after At War With Satan, and you don't need any Slayer after Show No Mercy.

Sorry, but everything after Show No Mercy did anything for me.

As for seeing the show Exodus were great, Slayer started out good but everything half way through sounded like a blur, and Venom put on a good show except I was slightly disappointed since I heard that venom shows were supposed to be dangerous since thy had been banned from playing in England after they almost set a club on fire with their pyrotechnics. Good show but now pyrotechnics.

Little did I know back then i was witnessing history in the making.

This was also back in the day that there was a big schism in the metal community since bands like Slayer, Metallica, Venom, and Motorhead were considered "Punk" by traditionalists who were stuck in the past and felt that if it didn't should like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, or Iron Maiden, then it wasn't true metal. Fortunately those types didn't show up. It was strictly fans only.
