Where is the Thrash babe? Thrash is better than both of them it has the highest amount of good albums and bands of the metal genres. Don't get me wrong, when DM and BM are good, they REALLY GOOD, but there's just so many bad albums in those genres too and it's so hard to find good ones in them that I have to put Thrash above them which has a plethora of great albums both popular and obscure.

I've liked Thrash for years as well as DM and BM, I just never stopped liking it. It's kind of a numale thing to immediately stop listening to thrash and only listen to DM and BM for the image as soon as you find them. It takes a while and you have to get to know the ins and outs of all the different scenes and bands and also be exposed to a lot of metal conversations and the kinds of opinions people who have them hold.
Generally speaking though, numale metal is metal that numales enjoy. Sometimes they don't even know that they are numales, but they are. Some tell-tale signs of numale metal are that it's trendy to like it (Sunbather) or that it is overly accessible and with little substance and/or too much style in a try-hard sort of way. Another way is by looking at the band members. If they don't look like actual metalheads and they don't seem to know much about metal based on their interviews and instrumentation, then they are likely numales as are their fans. The most obvious sign though is if people on /mu/ outside of /metal/ overwhelmingly like it and it came out in the last 20 years. This is because as we all know, /mu/ is crawling with numales who will latch onto to shit if they think it's indie and trendy. They fundamentally don't get what makes metal good. Signs of such albums and posters are when they say things like "I don't normally like metal but this album ..." and things of that nature. Hopefully we can guide you into a better future as a non-numale actual fan of metal.
