HEROES IS SO OBVIOUSLY BETTER WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID
>>73702873
Hell be fine
No, this is
>>73702884
Nope
>>73702884
Meh
>>73702873
2nd best, we all know what his best is let's not be contrarians
It's not his best but even against Ziggy it's his most influential, half the shit that came out of the underground scene in 80s England were either directly influenced by Low or the artists who championed it (Joy Division/New Order, The Cure, Siouxsie, The Chameleons, etc.)
>>73702873
heroes is better
>>73702943
Aladdin Insane?
>>73702979
It's Ziggy Stardust you silly boy, that's his 4th best
>>73702873
It's up there, and my personal favorite. Sound and Vision is his best song.
This is the album that got me into Bowie, and along with U2 Unforgettable Fire, got me into Eno.
>>73702884
Heroes doesn't have Subterraneanas
>>73702962
That's an interesting argument, to think that Low is post-punk. Unless you're just referring to the spacious, experimental instrumentation
>>73702995
Ziggy Stardust isn't as cohesive of an album as Station to Station, Low, or Heroes
how can anyone think its not this?
David Bowie's best album was an Iggy Pop album.
>>73702884
this is objectively correct though
>>73702995
What's his third best?!
>>73703028
I honestly prefer Low to The Idiot but I respect your opinion
I personally have never enjoyed the glam era of Bowie as much as the Berlin material. It just lacks the same pizazz
>>73703028
100% like the idiot better than any of the berlin trilogy
GOAT coming through
>>73702884
Heroes has better highs overall but not nearly as consistent as Low. Plus, it doesn't have Subterraneans.
>>73703076
not even close to anything from his 70's output
nice try though
Diamond Dogs.
>>73703053
Low was the first whole Bowie album I listened to, it was also my favorite. I don't think my post is valid because I haven't heard all of Bowie's work.
>>73702873
<-----nuff said.
>>73703005
I don't think Low is post-punk but its sound helped lay the groundwork, as I said it was a huge influence on the artists who would become the forefront of the genre. Joy Division were completely enamoured by it (their original name is even taken from Warszawa) as well as The Idiot, Robert Smith has frequently named it the greatest album of all, Mark Burgess said it came out at the perfect time when he was just starting to write his own music.
>>73703198
It's essentially a velvet underground ripoff album
>>73702873
Scary Monsters is his best, with Earthling and Hunky Dory being close seconds.
>>73703298
It sounds nothing like VU
>>73703298
I don't like Hunky Dory that much but even I know you're a fucking retard
>>73703121
Low is a close second but Blackstar is still the best
>>73703442
No, no it's really not. You may think it is but it's not at all
>>73703076
>>73703442
You wouldn't like it if Bowie didn't die. Notice how all the try-hards who like Blackstar on /mu/ don't care about his other 2000s output which is just as experimental and out there? It's because he didn't die after those ones.
>>73702873
no station to station was.
>>73703025
this
>>73702884
True
>>73703005
>>73703104
>Subterraneans
Not even the best track on side B (that would be Art Decade)
>>73703025
Because only half the tracks are any good
>>73702873
Yes
>>73702884
haHa that is a very funny opinion
Some of his 80's and 90's and modern stuff is so underrated (The Next Day) and even if a lot of the songs from the 90's were kind of meh there were a lot of hidden gems (Earthling is good)
>>73702873
I prefer Hunky Dory, but close tho
>>73702884
>>73703340
>implying my opinion is the only smart one
Lodger is the best
Red Money >>>>>>>>>> Sister Midnight
Best is probably Ziggy, but my favorite is Young Americans
>>73703025
This
Stay is one of Bowies best.
>>73703504
Heathen nor Reality was created as a goodbye album
>>73702962
>>73703207
This is interesting. I think the connecting factor here is Kraftwerk, no? Both Bowie and Joy Division/New Order were big fans and it really showed in their music.
I can't stop listening to Scary Monsters.
>>73702873
No. Not even remotely close.
Pic related best.
Diamond Dogs, Blackstar, The Man Who Sold The World, "Heroes", and Scary Monsters are all better albums.
>>73705708
It's his best.
>>73705624
Heathen is an actual good album.
>>73702900
Kek
>>73703298
Its not at all what are you on anon
>>73702943
>>73702995
Shit taste.
>>73702979
>>73703048
Shit sheep.
>>73703076
hard to argue it's not one of the best.
>>73703198
I laughed.
Psych Rock Bowie > Pretentious Sneer Bowie
>>73703125
>>73703765
>>73703025
>>73705793
Finally some men of superior taste
>>73702884
