How to into bending?

I hate bends so much. I find myself just using a slide or hammer on a full step up instead of bending the note a full step when reading tabs.

My pedal chain looks like this

Sounds fucking legit to get that Black Sabbath and Electric Wizard sound, the problem lies in the fact that the Ozford pedal sounds good on my solid state amp and sounds like shit with my tube amp.

I'll need something else to beef up that fuzz pedal when I'm using my tube amps. The Boss Fz-2 sounds best with a overdrive pedal after it, at least to my ears, so I need a pedal to get that doomy Sabbath sound for both my guitar and bass and stacks well with my fuzz. A boost pedal might work too, I suppose.

It's not bad for the price you pay. It's good for experimenting and trying out different sounds if you're unsure of what style you'd be playing or if you play multiple styles of music. I wouldn't record with it but it's fun to play around with.

recorded the rhythm guitars and vocals with a sm57 copy. bass and the lead guitars DI'd and amplitube'd. drums are programmed, ezdrummer
plugins were basically the slate digital's virtual mix rack, virtual tape machine, valhalla reverb, and reaper's stock plugins like eq, multiband comp, gate, limiter.
for mastering i used the slate mixbuss cranked and the tape plugin, some slight compression, slight multiband compression, reaper eq and limiter. thanks for asking

because if i try to keep perfectly in rhythm, my solo becomes robotic and boring, but if i just go with what i want everything has more of a groove

i know that feel, i'm improving slowly. just practice with a metronome. both scales/exercises, on various time divisions, and your musical licks. you will find it easier to play lead in time, and even if you dont think about it it will be more in time.

I fell into this trap and still do from time to time. You have to make an effort to play with feeling, which doesn't mean poor timing. One of the things I like to do is steal rhythms. So if I hear a melody, I'll mimic it with my own note choices. (Be careful that you don't end up playing the actual song, lol) Same with fills, etc. It's a shortcut but you still have to feel it.

Not him but just wearing headphones and playing clean can be a real wake-up call. I found myself changing my technique to compensate for the lack of gain. Holding notes longer, alternate instead of legato, economy instead of alternate... It's an ongoing process that's really starting to pay dividends. Exactly, I was relying on gain. I still legato but it needs work in some places. I will even help it out with the occasional pick stroke. It's not all one technique for me. I'll use whichever gives me the right sound at that moment.

There's a difference between the American and Mexican, but not 500 dollars worth. Replace the pickups, replace electronics; these are all options that will make it sound great and don't cost near 500-700 dollars to do. Personally, I have an epiphone traditional les paul and found that when I ignore the fact that it's cheaper and just played, there's nothing in my way
