Congratulations you finally got one of the most meme'd albums on /mu/.

I swear we get this thread everyday. Then I remember it's summer and this board is filled with teenagers.
>>
I don't get people that listen to albums several times till it finally 'clicks'

>dat stockholm syndrome
>>
>>73666887
>dat stockholm syndrome
I guess all those from academia analyzing classic music and jazz compositions suffer from it too.
>>
>>73666887
>stockholm syndrome meme
whatever you say scaruffi
>>
>>73666887
You just summed up /mu/
Everyone is just circlejerking about the same album over and over again and how great it is when no one actually likes it. Kinda sad actually
>>
>>73667027
trout mask is the best example of this
>>
>>73666926
Yeah, you can appreciate music from the music theory perspective, but I don't get people forcing themselves to listen to music that they don't really care about till it "clicks"
>>
I get it now its kinda like
>tfw no gf
but its also like a mermaid falling into a black hole
>>
>>73666811
this
>>
>>73667027
>>73667032
>assuming "no one actually likes" these highly acclaimed albums
>"I don't like it so no one else does"
ugh
>>
If understand this thread more if it was trout mask or even spiderland or some shit but Loveless is one of the most accessible /mu/core albums around.
>>
>>73667032
yeah, also works for 50% of the threads you seen in the catalog. This board is so trash but I still come because once in a while you can still find new decent music. Is it worth the pain though?
>>
>>73667049
you don't get it? really? you have zero idea why people might do that?
>>
>>73666887
you've never listened to an album and thought you didn't really like it much, but then two weeks later its stuck in your head still so you listen again and fall in love with it? I mean if that hasn't happened to you then you just don't listen to music enough.

That album is bad and everyone who claims to like it is just pretending. The only good song on that thing is Sometimes.
>>
>>73667049
you change your tastes change etc. i think it's fine to give stuff you don't like another go and occasionally find out you like it now, i agree if you mean people who listen to it and immediately ask for help in "getting it" though
>>
>>73667027
Except, OP actually liked it? I don't see your point.
>>
>>73667088
for real. this thread is the definition of "lurk more"
>>
>>73666887
For me, I do that when there's something about an album that I think is interesting but I'm not sure if I like it. It did happen with Loveless just because I had never heard anything like it before. Once I finally started to get into the textures in it and started listening for things I wouldn't normally listen for in rock music, it made a lot more sense to me. So I guess, listening to see if it clicks is like listening to understand the artist's intentions.
>>
>>73667091
wrong

the best song on the album is objectively Sgt. Kekkers Lonely Shart Club Band
>>
>>73667083
the albums in the catalog are almost all universally acclaimed, that's why they're in there. saying "no one likes them" is just edgy
>>
>>73667088
Seriously, this guy is implying he never listens to an album again because it doesn't click the first time.

Like what does he even listen to fucking Radiohead all day?
>>
>>73667085
>>73667088
>>73667093
Yeah, I listened to music I don't "get" and later it would be stuck in my head and ended up loving it, I realized it now that it could've happened to OP. But yeah, I just don't care about loveless.
>>
this thread is dildos
>>
>go on /mu/
>see the same ten albums posted all over all day every day
>listen to them
>don't like them
>listen again
>still don't like them
>play them over again for weeks
>start tolerating them
>post on /mu/ about how great and goat they are
>contribute to the same ten albums circlejerk
>go all "PLEB" "t. numale" "t. not patrician" when someone criticize them
What a great board
>>
>>73667189
>assuming nobody likes those albums
>>
>>73667189
insecurity manifesting as having your tastes dictated by a non-mainstream consensus
>>
>>73667210
>non-mainstream consensus
>basically a copy of RYM
wew lad
>>
>>73667210
>non-mainstream

Every /mu/core album is critically acclaimed.
>>
>>73666887
enjoying music is cool if i listen to something and i really want to enjoy it i will listen to it again every so often until i finally find myself enjoying it

it took me like three months of relistening to the cocteau twins before i really got that nut when i heard them
>>
>>73667088
If this happens to you, you didn't pay enough attention the first time or you put it on as background music the second time. Music "clicking" is the experience of 'understanding' music after the first listen, which can only happen if you weren't paying attention or you are a brainlet who had to have it explained to you.
>>
>>73667062
If Scaruffi has rated it above an 8, you can guarantee at least 1/4 of this board will shit on it for just that reason. Doesn't matter if something like TMR or The Modern Dance are icons of the rock music catalog
>>
>>73667879
>I am very smart
>>
>>73666793
Welcome to meme music, anon.
>>73666811
Same.
>>73667091
First, no. Then, the best song is To here knows when.
>>
k lol
>>
>>73666887
the first time i listened to spiderland i didn't get much from it. i had no idea what was going on musically. some things take time to appreciate. you think if i showed you some avant garde art you'd have a complete opinion from looking at it once?
>>
>>73667879
you know not many people have the time in their day to do nothing but listen to a complete album all the way through with full attention?
you know people have jobs and responsibilities right?
>>
>>73667027
>>73667032
>I don't see how anyone could possibly enjoy music that I don't
>>
>>73667088
Yes, but if it takes more than two listens then it's likely not an album for you.

Why do people have a hard time understanding this album? It's pretty entry level t b h.
