The overall production sound and vulnerable vibe frank went for on Blonde was the seller for me. I think he nailed a tone that fit 2016 yet stood out. On first listen, something about that album really clicked in a way none of his previous work did for me. I never liked any of his other albums, but I had Blonde on repeat for quite a while when it dropped.
