he's an underrated songwriter. people only know "DUDE, STAR SPANGLED BANNER. DUDE, HE LIT HIS GUITAR ON FIRE. DUDE, HE PLAYED GUITAR WITH HIS TEETH THAT ONE TIME. DUDE, HE PLAYED BEHIND HIS HEAD" without ever considering his songwriting talent.
People that truly appreciate Hendrix appreciate his songwriting and his knack for improvisation.

Were you aware that Hendrix was the greatest rhythm player of all time? Oh, you weren't?
He's underrated and underappreciated
Agree, this album is great and I never see it posted/ hear it talked about

Nobody really cares about his few live recordings even though it's a really good look at his actual performing talent like nine months before he died. Such a funky album and machine gun is top tier.

shut the fuck up, literally everyone praises Hendrix for EVERYTHING, there is nothing underrated about him, he's among the mos overrated musicians to have ever walked the earth in every aspect.

Hendrix is slightly overrated, but this album is incredibly underrated. It's by far his best work.

I honestly could give a fuck less about studio Hendrix now, I've heard those albums enough by this point. His live stuff always sounds fresh and they just keep releasing new shit

Yup except I think Electric Ladyland is a bit better, both are 10/10s though
