I'm in serious need for more records like this. Is there any artist/band that can satisfy my appetite?

portishead maybe

>>73639852
Nah I know Portishead but I don't really feel like they're that similar.
>>
>>73639882
listened to the new MA ep?
>>
>>73639937
Yeah I listened to all their stuff already and I'm looking for something new.

Well, the rest Massive Attack, but that goes without saying.
Honestly, I've never really tried much Trip Hop outside of Massive Attack and some earlier Gorillaz, so you might like their first album. Especially songs like Tomorrow Comes Today, Clint Eastwood, Gravity, etc.
Also, try this song out

Already listened to them, didn't saw many similarities. I think they're even less similar to MA than Portishead.
>>
its a fruitless search...keep aiming for the stars op
>>
>>73640163
DJ Shadow?
>>
>>73640152
Nah they're pretty meh.
>>
>>73640204
Yeah I like Endtroducing..... but I feel like it's more similar to Unkle's Psyence Fiction (which I like too) and eventually Blue Lines than Mezzanine.
>>
Bowery Electric - Beat
>>
Kinda similar
>>
>>73641079
I'm gonna try it
>>
>>73641108
Always heard about Ulver but never actually listened to them so definitely gonna check it
>>
>>73641127
They're really good, you should check them out.
I don't want to overhype you but Perdition City is probably the closest I've heard to Mezzanine, though the instrumentation is a lot sparser and there isn't as much vocals. So it's not too similar but it might scratch the itch
>>
Try Tricky - Maxinquaye.
>>
>>73641339
Already tried, his best but imo had some good stuff even after.

Thievery Corporation
Unkle
Nightmares on Wax
Mr Scruff
Bonobo
RJD2
Morcheeba
Zero 7
A couple Handsome Boy Modeling School tracks
Supreme Beings of Leisure is a little more upbeat and loungy.
Air
Chemical Brothers, to an extent.
Groove Armada
UNKLE

Fun fact, Dummy is mostly mixed in mono except for some strings iirc.

If you want dark/nightcore try Burial

If you want good trip-hop I'd rec Archive (Londonium first) or Bonobo

If you want music that sounds like it could have been made this year listen to Boards of Canada
>>
>>73641594
I don't think you know what nightcore is, anon
>>
>>73641654
nice i learned something today
a genuine thanks, /mu/tant
>>
>>73641654
Exactly I think I'm gonna put some nightcore version of MA now if there is any on youtube kek
>>73641594
Yeah I already know Bonobo, Archive and Boards of Canada.
>>73641552
Please don't copy just the names of most known trip-hop bands/musicians because many of them (even if they're good) are not even in 1% similar to MA, especially Mezzanine
>>73641517
They're just meh
>>73641413
>>73641471
>>73641475
I'm gonna check it thanks

Stars of the Lid is all you'll need.
