Also don't find Kevin Barnes an ugly guy, he just has been going for a harsher look that fits his manic rockstar persona he has been doing for the last run of albums and I was actually a fan of Clark's last style.

I feel people caring about an artist's look is (mostly) a meme here.

She looks better natural. Anything from before or during her Strange Mercy tour and she just always looked cute and beautiful. Now she has to really get put together and it's just not the same. Still looks great don't get me wrong, but her flaws seem more and more apparent.

Her music seems to be getting more and more boring too. The New York song that should be released in a few days sounded boring and aimless and far from catchy when it was being played live at the benefit concert, and I doubt it's going to sound better recorded. The self titled had some good hooks and was overall very solid but it was more of the same formula that she's been using since 2007 and relied heavily on it's production. I just feel like she's using too many crutches.

I feel like New York is going to be pretty different recorded. Live it was only the piano but I doubt it'll stay that way. In any case I liked the piano stuff on Marry Me so it'll still probably sound nice. I really doubt she'd release for the first single a slow, solo piano song though.

Also she's producing the new album herself so I imagine that'll make some difference too if you think her stuff is so production focused. She also said it's a change in her sound so hopefully that's true and it's still good.

From what I can tell there isn't John Congleton on the record and her Instagram pics seem to show her working by herself and she was even working with Sounwave. The Sounwave collab could work though, considering Annie's been using syncopated beats almost exclusively for the past decade.

I have a feeling Annie's gonna be one of those musicians to die on tour. As a fan, I don't know how much that will effect me.
