It's funny that you said that I should listen to more than one genre when I literally have too. I constantly hang out with normie friends who listen to rap, hip pop, edm, ect. I know what that music is, I like it, I do just not as much as my metal music. And OPs asking for albums so its not like I can include songs I enjoy, only wholesale albums that I give 10/10 too.

You never bother to assume that maybe I just enjoy metal the most as a genre especially from an album hits perspective. Speaking of which the genre itself is very diverse, I have power, heavy, thrash and black on my Top 10 and 2 rock albums.

Ys is beautiful but for some it's a grower. Don't give up on it and label it as trash after only one or two listens. It's catchy as shit and technically really complicated as she was going through a self-proclaimed "poly rhythm phase". The instrumentation is beautiful and the lyrics are super personal and tell some great sometimes sad sometimes funny sometimes interesting stories.

Would love some recs! Trying to broaden my tastes, so they don't have to be similar to what's in the chart.

>>73607676
3/10. Love Primus and Electric Wizard, but I'm not crazy about Ween.
I would recommend Death Angel.

>>73608078
8/10. Haven't heard of Mayhem or Pessimist before, but the rest is all fantastic. I'd check out Symphony X and Mastodon.

>>73608335
7/10. Love the entire top row, Insomnium, and Nightwish. Not a clue what the middle three are.
If you haven't already, give Between the Buried and Me a listen.

>>73608359
5/10. Beatles, Blondie, Black Sabbath, and Doors are fuckin' classic. Radiohead is meh in my opinion.
I would check out Funkadelic!

>>73608440
8/10 for Opeth alone, shit's my jam. The rest is alright or I haven't heard of it.
I would check out Sylosis :)

>>73608449
3/10. Haven't heard of most of it, but King Crimson is dope.
Looks like you like jazz, so I might recommend Snarky Puppy.
>>
>>73609906
Please listen to Type O Negative, specifically Slow, Deep, and Hard. I'm sure you'd like a lot of Buckethead's early stuff if you haven't heard it, something like Bucketheadland. Oh, and Kyuss, Blues for the Red Sun is a great album
>>
>>73609906
8/10 for you too, I'd rate it higher if I was a death metal fan. I should have replaced one of my albums with Rust in Peace, totally forgot about that perfect album.

Not a prog fan but will still give Symphony X and Mastodon a try, I recommend Call to War by Pessimist, its death-thrash.

Don't really listen to Buckethead a lot anymore, but I love his guitarwork, especially Jordan. I'll check out his early stuff though since I don't think I've heard it.
Kyuss didn't make my top 10, but that shit's dope.
Thanks for the recs!

>>73610016

A few more off the top of the head would be Third Ear Band - Third Ear Band (sometimes the album is known as Elements) and Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom. The latter is a bit more proggy than what you have on your list, but it's certainly nothing like Yes or King Crimson, much more personal and emotional a la Tim Buckley.
>>
>>73610366
I haven't listened to it yet but I've been waiting to find a vinyl of Rock Bottom so I can make my first listen something special, I think I'll really love it. I've never heard of Third Ear Band, I'll check em out tho. Where's your 10 man?
