Why has there been no noteworthy British artists since Radiohead?
>>
Rock music in the UK died with britpop. Look into UK electronic music instead.

Heck, Radiohead themselves acknowledged this with Kid A.
>>
>>73605742
HAVE there been. Subject verb agreement, please.
>>
>>73605742
Define "since"?

Radiohead are still active.

-Demographic shift: there are way less white young Britons now that there were twenty-five years ago, which leads to...
-Rise of electronic and hip hop: cultural imports from the US. But also:
-NME and assorted media hype up the wrong British bands while ignoring the worthwhile ones.

Cherrypicking. Present census data or some other valid demographic measure, and stop being deliberately fallacious.
>>

so what's your explanation for white male rock not being the dominant form of music in british young cliques then

Don't move the goalposts either. We just talked about avoiding fallacies, remember? You said that there are less young white Brits around today than there were 20 years ago. Prove it.

Rock music in the USA died with grunge. The Brits acknowledge it ended, Americans are still trying to fellate the old corpse.

Demographics don't change dramatically in the spawn of 6 years.

It's true "white" people have less children in average than many other ethnicities, which leads to a gradual demographic shift of having less white people, but the UK is still over 80% white .

Also the entire premise of the thread is wrong because there are plenty of great British musicians that are still active

Look mate, you have a point. There is a refugee crisis in the UK, and the deluge of unskilled foreign leeches is a major problem for us - but this absurd exaggeration only makes you look like an idiot, and devalues what could otherwise be a valid point.

It's one thing to have no nuance, but its a completely different thing to be completely detached from reality.

You are really making the argument the UK is just like Syria right now? how stupid are you?
>>
>>73606413
I support a policy that accepts only immigrants that have a stable profession, but in the case of war refugees, i still think it's good to accept some of them.

I mean, what happens to them in syria is truly heartbreaking, i think its a good thing to help them

Unironically, Biffy Clyro.

Despite the NME trying their hardest to snub them (this changed the moment they signed to Warner), the guys played to fill out the Barrowlands pretty early on and got their music successively higher up the charts despite being on an indie label.

Obviously their charting doesn't matter as much as the material but The Vertigo of Bliss and Infinity Land were probably some of the last good "rock" albums released by a British band. I believe this is especially true in the case of Infinity Land, which fuses melodic hooks with shifting time signatures and some left-turn key changes to make it one of the most refreshing albums to come from an era of stagnation for "rock".

It's honestly a shame it's so overlook because it's on par with sub/mu/ core albums like Emergency and I or Keep it a secret.

There are no good guitar bands any more, so we're making other music. Grime and dancehall are big-ish, hence why Drake is selling a watered down version to the US.

Name one good American rock band since Radiohead.
