can someone redpill me on this band? I feel like every album they put out is just 40 minutes of unfocused wankery. all the songs just blend together
>all the songs just blend together
It's supposed to be a continuous piece of music
I was pretty disappointed with motu t b h
Altered beast variations go on for way too long and a lot of it just feels very half baked. also the mixing is fucking terrible
I'm not sure technically what's wrong with the mixing but it just doesn't sound right. as if it was recorded half underwater or something

This is the first that I've heard anyone else say this so far, and I have to agree.
What really bothers me is how inconsistent it is, like one song will sound fine and then the next will sound really muddy and then it will go back to sounding alright.
Microtonal Banana was much better in my opinion

OK I guess a different question should be why do people enjoy listening to 4 different versions of Altered Beast when the first one was a boring enough song by itself

What format are you listening on? I don't really have too many complaints about mixing, I mean it could be better sure, but nothing stands out as terrible to me.
/mu/ hates this band a lot but the reason for it is kind of lame and i dont think THAT much hate is justified. im not even a king gizz fan myself but i can tell they're a decent psych garage band, they can come off as one trick-ish and the music is more "fun" than "artistic"

this album is so dope
>band is most famous for their generic repetitive garage rock
>their best album is actually a folk rock album
They've been releasing the same record for years, and this one is the worst offender yet. They're covering their own shit with plagiarized Thee Oh Sees riffs/ideas. This album is the same motherfucking thing the whole way thru.

They've had a boner for this really tight, thin lofi sound the past few records and I hate it. It makes everything bleed together even worse than it already does.
