Is it bad that I think Surfer Rosa, Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde are all better than this album?

Nope its just your opinion and theres nothing wrong with having one :)
I've tried forever and I can not give a shit about any album besides Doolittle. They all sound boring and like jams.
I want to be proven wrong because I love Doolittle so much, but everything before and after is just so stale...
its undoubtedly overrated, a solid 8.

Personally I think the exact opposite in all honesty. I like Surfer Rosa's surf rock energy, the killer baselines in Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde's well-rounded sound a lot. To me Doolittle feels rather inconsistent and unfocused.
The only Pixies I ever understood the appeal of were a couple songs from Doolittle and the Fight Club song. I guess they were innovative for the time?

Doolittle's the only record of theirs I own but I keep coming back to Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim the most.

If only the whole album sounded like this!

Some of the middle of Doolittle feels how I feel about a lot of their other stuff. Like I didn't care much about There Goes My Gun, Mr Grieves, and La La Love You or anything.
My favorite off the album is easily Tame, do they have much else like Tame in their discog?
Like, maybe following that is Gouge Away or I Bleed

Is She Weird off of Bossanova sounds similar to Tame.
It's alright senpai, I'm personally a huge fan of Bossanova and Trompe le Monde, even though they're their most disliked albums. Surfer Rosa & Come on Pilgrim are amazing too. I feel that Doolittle lacks a signature sound that makes it feel like a very solid album. It obviously has some great stuff, but it creates a huge contrast with the not-so-great tracks in between.
Surfer Rosa can be considered better but that's all.

My thoughts exactly. Great description.
