Put me in the mindset who would post something like this OP. Are you just incredibly new? I just can't believe that someone not only thought that the fucking Smiths were the saddest band of all time, but also was so stupid that they didn't have the self awareness to know that they should probably keep their mouth shut and just lurk until they had gotten some better taste.
The people answering this thread with Joy Division and Dan Barrett are equally as bad don't get me wrong.

Not really, I know that there's more music out there and that I have listened to relatively little of it so I keep myself realistic about my taste.
I mean if you're proud that you only listen to a handful of albums by a handful of popular musicians that's on you I guess but it's just fairly ignorant to post shit like that. I don't really think you should leave or anything, just listen to more music and delve deeper into stuff before thinking you are ready to talk seriously about it.
