PSA: IT IS NOW OK TO LIKE ZZ TOP
Is his last name really Beta?
Why is the album title in Spanish? I thought classic rockers were all right-wing patriots.

Its entirely predictable pitchfork to praise this album.
ZZTops cultural importance lies with when they threw caution to the wind and started using a drum machine and put MTV on the map.
Pitchfork would probably deride Eliminator and Afterburner solely because of their popularity but they were much more important to ZZTop than the early stuff (as good as those early albums are, they are not such a paradigm shift and as culturally relevant).

ZZ Top have more hipster cred than you think. pic related was a major influence on post-rock, with shimmering guitars and spacey instrumentals all over the place. amazing album

andy beta is good, are you new - has always represented experimental music on p4k, is not a hack, not a nu-male in the sense you are implying

Fucking idiot.

I can't wait for the totally coincidental influx of ZZ Top threads and lifelong fans of the band

Not surprising, The Meat Puppets and Steve Albini love ZZ Top
Indie's unironic appreciation of the little ol' band from Texas is well documented
