They're close. I think Illmatic makes more effective use of its run-time, being almost a half hour shorter. Up North Trip, Trife Life, and Hectic are some of the weaker songs while most people find Illmatic to have zero fat. Illmatic is not as dark and atmospheric as Infamous though.
