I probably would've given it a 7, but I do agree with most of the write-up.

GOLD is without a doubt the very best of what the album has to offer and encapsulates the appeal of Brockhampton. It's fresh, exciting, full of personality, and it's incredibly catchy. Meanwhile, half the album sounds like dollar store Frank Ocean + extra cheese.

I really like Saturation but I'm pretty happy that it's getting somewhat shit on a bit on such a huge platform/publication.

These guys got over-hyped to fucking hell and back. They really needed something to bring them back down to earth. People were trying so hard to push them to be the next OF like they're saving hip-hop or some shit, but they're really just OF-obsessed kids who made some catchy hooks. Everything you need to know about their maturity-level is shown in that pic.

They need more time to craft both their own sound and personality. Saturation wasn't necessarily the bastion of new fresh rap, but it showed potential at least.

Why does anyone care what Pitchfork does? There is no consistency. Each review is written by a different person.

I don't agree with Melon's score of a 9, I'd personally have given this thing maybe a 7.5 tops, but Pitchfork is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to music reviews. I'd only ever take it slightly more seriously if they had the same panel of people review the albums and come up with an aggregate score.
