Folk is bad for road trips, even though it's nice to imagine yourself driving through the countryside with it in the background like something out of a movie like Garden State. The sounds of car on pavement really ruin the ambiance. You can crank it, but it doesn't solve the problem, then you just have Nick Drake whispering loudly over car noises.
The definitive test of a pop punk album is how it fares on a road trip. This was a staple for me and my friends for a few years (well, the whole trilogy actually)
