Where do you go to discover new music, now that /mu/ is a circlejerk of artists who were relevant 5+ years ago?
/mu/
Spotify, other people
i smash some notes into midi program at random
then google reverse soundwave search
and this is how i find the good musics of our times
>>73483196
Random searching soundcloud.
rym, youtube, random blogs, recs from friends, soulseek
>>73483196
Mostly Youtube and other people.
Youtube a little, gorilla vs bear a little, the Carles Show on siriusxmu a little, /mu/ a tiny bit.
Wish there was a better way, but I don't know it.
>>73483196
>relevant
Literally what did he mean by this?
>>73483306
the best way is to be friends with a lot of people who are into music
I think that is the reason why /mu/ keeps discussing the same boring stuff. a lack of friends outside of this board
rym unfortunately. it's trash but such a good database. just when i was thinking i've gotten everything i can out of it and can go my own way i find out about camberwell now through it and i'm right back in
>>73483196
89.9 or 90.7 fm or amoeba's
>discovered most of the music i love from rym
>still discovering music i love from rym
>tfw waiting impatiently for /mu/ to actually surprise me with a new artist that actually has any talent
>>73483330
>tfw no music nerd gf
I agree with you, but my friends are all normies, and none of them actively seek out new music. I know exactly what I'll hear from them if they have the aux cord next time we hang out.
The internet is the only way for me.
aoty threads
youtube and old extensive genre flowcharts from /mu
Record labels
RYM, youtube, music map, googling best of a genre then looking at random lists on people's random blogs, sharethreads, friends, going to shows, anywhere i possibly can
