As a rapper he is usually shit, but he can put together a solid verse on occasion. But his beat choices and simple flow is top-notch. The self-titled album has some of the best production to come from this new wave of trap hip hop. A more lyrically skilled rapper wouldn't be as good on the bubbly beats though in my opinion, while Carti is a perfect fit.
