What're your thoughts so far and what do you hope the album will be?

it'll be meh if the album is more of the singles
>>73469135
the singles for Summertime 06' weren't strong either but it turned out to be one of my favorite albums of all time.
vince staples reminds me a lot of j. cole in that I know that he's a good rapper that can make good albums but I have almost no interest at all in listening to his music
I didn't find his last album to be anything that special either
>>73469153
i think his biggest issue is his subject matter. i grew up very similarly to how he did, but it just gets old how he talks about the same thing every other song.

i think cole and vc are just in a weird spot we're they good enough technically to stay relatively hot but not enough to be top level like Kendrick plus they don't really have an aesthetic. When I think of Drake I think pop, Kendrick I think conscious, Young Thug is weirdo trap, but when it comes to Vince it's like eh he had that one song norf norf

i feel you. if anything i would say he's "alt. gangster rap". there's only so much shit you can say about crips while on a FLUME instrumental
>>73469188
That Flume track was one of Vince's best songs though
>>73469117
I'm expecting great rhymes over hot garbage electronic ass beats.
I'm hoping that it's like Prima Donna

I can agree with this. For better or worse all the big rappers have a clear aesthetic. Kendrick, Drake, Migos, Young Thug, Lil Yachty, etc

I want another track like the one he did with GTA

And Cole has one too. But his is uncool for whatever reason.
>>73470552
Well seeing as there's a track on there produced by GTA consider it done.

Ah nice!
