why does /mu/ hate dadrock?

Dadrock is just the 60s-70s rock that r/lerightgeneration crossposters were most overexposed to on classic rock stations and youtube comments when they were 13, and now feel validated at rejecting now that they're 16.
Treat the people that use it as a 4-letter word as such.

Too complex for their tiny rap minds

I don't think /mu/ hates it. If we talk about it, this will just turn into any of the other million forums for plebs and dads to talk about AC/DC.
We already know dad rock is good, there is just fresher things to discuss. Now butt-rock on the other hand...

I mean don't get me wrong I like rap too. I like all decades of music, but rap never sounded that great live. Could never turn a feather to live sounds of Jimmy Page, Clapton, Joe Walsh. Tons of people knew about Prince just because of his talk show appearances and because of his 'sass' but could not name even 3 songs of his or knew that he was a boss guitar player.

I love most dadrock, depending on how you define dadrock.

Race has nothing to do with that era. Can't forget about Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Earth Wind and Fire.
because mom rock is better.

It's the same thing. You probably were raised by a single mom.
