guide me into ska-punk

listen to the Specials, Madness, Streetlight, Sublime, and maybe the Bosstones, and then just fucking stop. The genre has very little to offer.

You forgot Goldfinger and Operation Ivy
>>73455372

House exists
>>73455590
why?
Arrogant Sons of Bitches! - Three Cheers for Disappointment
Operation Ivy - Self Titled
Suicide Machines - Destruction By Definition
Flaming Tsunamis - Fear Everything
Choking Victim - No Gods / No Managers
Less Than Jake - Hello Rockview
Streetlight Manifesto - Somewhere in the Between
Sublime - Sublime
These are the ESSENTIAL ska punk albums. trust

Stuff like Big D, the Bosstones, and Reel Big Fish are what give ska-punk a bad reputation in the first place. I.e., this reaction >>73455590
I have no problem with Choking Victim, Mustard Plug, or Rancid. The Toasters have an older sound but still good. Catch-22 is on the edge, but since OP posted Streetlight it gets a pass.

Honestly a very good list. Pretty much anything I could add would be less "essential."
Someone explain to me how Bomb the Music Industry is ska?
I always hear it described as such but doesn't sound like ska at all.

Jeff Rosenstock's first band was Arrogants Sons of Bitches, BtMI was his next project in which he started branching out to new ideas (because he's a true punk musician) however he kept a good amount of his ska punk influence. I wouldn't say Bomb is a ska band, more of just a punk band with a great variety in sound. Definitely worth getting into after you use up all the good ska punk albums

i can agree with most of this but Big D / Drexel are awesome and should not be overlooked.
