I'm a fan of his other works, so I'm gonna get back to you after I hear this.
Liking the intro so far. It's unique from his other stuff.
Pretty fun little thing

There's a beauty in the splendor and desire to surrender.

Hey, its OP, bowed you like it?
>>73450399
I love Mort but most of his albums are very inconsistent. Lots of beautiful melodies and soundscapes alternating with weird foley/spoken word sections.
much preferred his other albums desu

It's brilliant, surreal and truly psychedelic in parts but terribly cringy in others. It's an enjoyable listen every once and a while

Plantasia is a favorite of mine, but I'd love to see a phycedelic wozard of iz cartoon.

I really dig it, always get an immature laugh out of the love needs part, what part do you find cringyest?
>>73451810
This is going to sound like a weird answer considering this is the whole point of the album, but I think it's at it's worst when it's trying to move the story. Especially at the part of the album where they're establishing every character who isn't Dorothy.

Is this more so based on the stories socio political standing, the lingo of the era, or do you just find it a weak parody?

It's definately a lot to do with weak parody. But musically I find it lacking too. These tracks are the furthest away from the electric psychedelia madness, which I think is the strongest and most unique aspect of the album

I can see that, my favorite track would probably be the second one, where Dorothy meets the tasty good witch. The synth lead on that is gorgeous.
Blue Poppy is horror given sound.

I got interested in this thing after I saw how it was sampled on Wildflower and i listened to it and thought that is was decent but the story they were trying to tell kind of took away from the music.

I feel the album almost more so like an audio book, with music laced in, with plenty of prevalent and mood setting sound effects/drones. It was around the 3rd time I listened to this album that I began to see it this way.
