Thanks man! I really dig the Sweet Trip and Depreciation Guild on yours too. I guess just because I don't see it there I'd recommend Ice Choir, Stella Luna, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Pia Fraus, Frankie Rose, Flying Saucer Attack, Moscow Olympics, Melody's Echo Chamber, SIANspheric, Mazzy Star, Purple Bloom, and Starflyer 59. If you want more of a traditional psychedelic sound any Australian shoegaze blends it so fucking well. Flyying Colours, Lowtide and Beaches are just killing it right now. Stargazer Lilies newest LP is absolutely killer too. If you need more let me know!

This is actually really good. My guess is that you haven't been into music for too long, just like me. However, this is really good, and we share a lot of common favorite bands (Swans, Radiohead, Death Grips, The Beatles..)
If what I said is true and you like a lot of the same music like me, check out Pink Floyd. I know they have a bad rep around here, but they're seriously awesome and you should check them out if you haven't already
>>73457772
Thanks for the response/rec! This is basically true - I've only been really expanding my musical horizons in past year or two. I used to listen to a lot more Floyd, and I still really like Wish You Were Here and Animals - but I think in general they sound a little dated and weren't nearly as revolutionary as Can, Faust, Zappa etc.
recs please
>>73458059
I totally get that, I was just wondering if you had listened to them. I'll check out the artists you mentioned, especially Frank Zappa. I've been wanting to get into him, but I don't know where to start, what to listen to and not and how to go through it. It's really a big discog

Seems like you just go for the most lauded albums from particular genres or well-known artists. Nothing wrong with that, just an observation.
Check out The Tyranny of Distance by Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. They draw from a lot of influences including punk, post-punk, hardcore, dub, and early ska.
Suck is another one for you to check out. South African band that only released one album, called Time to Suck, back in 1970. It has some pretty good original psych/prog tracks as well as early covers of 21st Century Schizoid Man and War Pigs (recorded less than a year after the originals).
