"Power, Corruption and Lies" was the turning point in their career. It was still rooted in Post-Punk/New Wave (especially with "Age of Consent"), but the band laid the foundation for the future sound there.
Post more post-punk from continental Europe
everyone knows Siekiera, but I think Klaus Mitffoch is the clearly superior Polish post-punk group

What about Kult and Republika
Also Lech Janierka's solo stuff is great
>>73440183
I love them both too, Kazik and Ciechowski were both great lyricists too
>tfw gonna see Kult live next month
also, this is an interesting Polish post-punk album, which was to be released in the 80s, but the recordings were lost and it was re-recorded in the 90s. Band led by Tymon Tymański later rebranded themselves as Miłość and became one of the seminal yass groups

Ok so what the hell is post punk? I understand post hardcore and everything that came out of the punk music scene besides this.
A few introduction albums would be much appreciated.

Post : After.
Post-punk : After punk.
Every music that was made after punk movement is post-punk. My favorite post-punk acts are Magazine, Bauhaus, The Notorious B.I.G., Weezer and Vampire Weekend.
I really like Joy Division, early New Order, The Police, and Preoccupations especially. Do I just want new wave instead at this point or is there any post punk people would recommend?

Im more of a Two Door Cinema Club guy myself but alright

Basically music that shares aspects of punk whilst being too far detached from to still be considered punk. This leads to quite a variety in post-punk
A good example of that is the song hip preist by the fall

You don't need to tie yourself to one genre. Listen to both post punk and new wave
>>73441909
Well yeah, but I mean where will I be more likely to find that kind of sound? Any reccs in particular?
>>73441408
Kult - Posłuchaj to do ciebie (but you need to get the 1992 reissue which added originally censored tracks)
Later they released non-post-punk albums which are also great, especially Tata Kazika (which consists of recordings of Kazik's dad, Stanisław Staszewski, who was an acclaimed underground singer/songwriter and poet) and Ostateczny Krach Systemu Korporacji (yass-influenced alternative rock)
Also, Kazik made some solo albums which are among the very first Polish hip-hop records, Spalam Się and Spalaj Się, they're interesting at least
Republika - Nowe Sytuacje (the debut) or 82-85 (a singles compilation which includes some of their most popular songs)

If you like synth driven post punk you might like minimal synth

Other than that I really don't want to turn this into a the fall thread as I've already recommended them once but try 'the fall - gortesque (after the Gramme)'

Quick question is Interpol considered post-punk?
>>73442192
Post-punk revival. 00s movement of emulating 80s sound.
>>73442121
Enjoying both of those, thanks anon. I've heard of The Fall in regards to influencing or being around the same time as Pavement, but never gave them a listen.
