Van Morrison - Astral Weeks?
Or
Tim Buckley - Happy Sad?
You decide.

I tried astral weeks last night and I don't know if it needs a couple more listens, but it just sounds like everyone's off in their own world just noodling away on the same shit they've been playing for years. Maybe it was the version or something, but I don't get how that's suppose to be even close Happy Sad.
Did I accidentally get a live version, or is the entire band just not tight at all and doesn't care on that album?

I understand how it can feel like that at first... but I think you just aren't 'getting' it. Like, I cried to it first time I listened and I've not really ever done that before. It's the impressionism and progression that's a big part of it. Buckley's progressions are actually pretty standard and almost rock-like, whereas Morrison is much more folk-y and his voice is just.... so soulful

No, I think it might be because I'm using headphones to listen to it and it's recorded differently (badly?)

His vocals seem buried on the title track and that acoustic guitar is just annoyingly noodling away.
Anyway. Here you go. For the win.
