In the first case the accusor was caught on tape saying he's going to milk Jackson for all he's got and made it clear this was all to get custody of his son back. The kid himself didn't want to testify, and refused to speak to his father in later life (while still never saying a bad word about Jackson).

In the second trial the woman was clearly crazy and everybody, including the kid's father knew that the child was being coached and put up to it by her.
