Does /mu/ like this album? Where does it rank in their discography?
Urbanoutfitters-core
I've always liked this album, but I didn't fall in love with it until two weeks ago actually. I think it's Deerhunter's best and most realized album, and "Earthquake" and "He Would Have Laughed" make one of the best bookend pairs of any album that I have listened to.

I agree, definitely their best. I used to love these guys but I had zero interest in their past two albums after first listens. What heppen

I hope they prove me incorrect, but I think that Deerhunter hit this point where they can easily write albums that are just good, so they stick to that since it's easier than experimenting. Monomania and Fading Frontier are both solid, but they seem lackluster relative to Cryptograms/Microcastle/Halcyon Digest, almost as though they're just phoning it in.
Or maybe Josh Fauver was the secret genius.

It's nearly flawless. It's the perfect execution of their sound.
Really liked where indie pop/psych pop was headed between this release and MPP, wish it would have kept coming.
their best, up there with Microcastle.

isn't it part of /mu/-core? i love it and everyone else seems to. maybe their best album
for an album to be so pleasant, accessible and poppy while still being genuinely experimental and psychedelic is really impressive
