I listened to it when it came out, and thought it was about the worst thing I'd ever heard. Maybe one day I'll give it another listen, but there's a decent chance I won't.

Great work. Probably Berg's best. Unfortunate that he did not too other operas, and to have premiered so late in a time where opera is not really as popular anymore.
