I just got into punk music and I love it, but at the same time it made me sad - because punk is dead and it made me realize that music of today is so fucking vapid and meaningless. What is the reason for this?
because you only know mainstream music

That's not true tho. I don't listen to mainstream music much. I'm not saying it's vapid and meaningless in general, but only in political sense.
How do you reconcile this viewpoint with the countless shitposts about Kendrick's racial themes in TPAB?

Exactly, it's racial themes, feminism and stuff like that... Those are not really ideologies. They're not a greater all-encompassing movement, just various artists with their pet political problems.

Why do you want to have some prick's ideology force fed to you through music?
Musicians aren't academics, who gives a single shit what they have to say about politics.

Politics is for everyone, not just academics. That's exactly why politically involved music is needed.
