Speculation is that he's opening his own Bleepstore, which should allow him to release whatever he wants on a whim much more easily than previously. It's also been said that they've been in the process of mastering a compilation of Soundcloud dump tracks so it's possible it could lead to that getting out there, or other releases of old but previously unheard material.
I'm hoping for a new album too, though.

Newer Aphex doesn't have the same frentic energy as the mid 90s stuff because he's become strictly analog-only in his process, so he doesn't have the ability to cut up stuff like in his laptop days.
I think his melodicism and layering is as good or better than ever though desu, Syro is pretty amazing in its construction and composition
But I like all of it really. Early 90s ambient stuffs might be my fave for the atmosphere and lo-fi vibe
