I feel like such a goddamn pleb right now. I was listening to this and halfway through I got bored as fuck and it made miss old Fleet Foxes. I ended up listening to s/t, because holy fuck s/t is golden.

I feel like Crack-Up is Robin responding to the musical landscape of today and also the overarching social and political landscape. He tried to take all of that into account while also making the record personally satisfying. I understand all that but at the same time I feel you. Robin may be somewhat channeling a low key version of Yeezy in the "He'll give us what we need. It may not be what we want" sense. However, I honestly would rather escape back to the beautiful bucolic melodies of the self-titled or even Helplessness Blues than experience the fragmented melodies and consummate harshness of the sea in Crack-Up.
