this board has been going downhill so quickly. I browse /mu/ a lot and it's the only board I use really. I have never used filters but now I find myself hiding so many threads instantly. /pol/ leakages, memes, shitposting, bait, waifus. After hiding all that, there are only like 30 threads left.

Thanks, but what I was originally saying was the board going downhill. Whereas the catalog would be more balanced between shitposts and quality threads, I feel like that balance has been lost. And I don't think those who were making quality threads before have gone, I think they are also making shitty bait threads that are filling up this board. I think that because I've addressed those OPs before and they seem more regretful, I suppose.

I think crossboard memes are okay but the second something goes /pol/ it should be deleted. It would be fine if this was a semi-rare occurrence, such as a thread or two devolving into vidya discussion a month or so, but instead this is daily.
If people want to discuss the political background of an album and it doesn't go off the rails it should be fine.

Also having 2 generals of the same thing should not be tolerated in any board. Having two threads about the same artist (unless their album just came out, looking at you Lordefags) should be considered either shitposting or shilling.
This is not a grudge against grimesfaggots or anything, I like Sufjan but sometimes we have three threads about him around no release.

I'm not a fan of the homogenizing affect generals might have so I believe a general shouldn't be made right after the last thread dies, I haven't been keeping up on them but /shugazi/ used to only make a thread once a week. This allowed the discussion to have more content, as opposed to the false-flagging and shitposting that occurs in eternal generals (grimes, kpop) and in between these threads you could still discuss shoegaze without having to do it in a general that caters to only a certain set of users.

So pretty much my opinion on how to make /mu/ great again is
>MAXIMUM of three threads about the same album immediately when the album comes out
>otherwise maximum of one thread
>no two threads about the same artist at a time
>delete threads that devolve into /pol/ on site for the time being
>ban /pol/ users, not ban people with alternative political leanings, but people who try to ruin music discussion by bringing up *insert minority or socialism/communism here*

Also spoilers might not be a great idea but I personally would like them for the meme, I left /a/ when the great Moot cracked down with "BELIEVE IT" and I miss memeing with some spoilers.
