So I'm applying for a new college (Recently moved) and I'm going to be doing a Music Technology course. I have to do an audition when I receive a letter in a few days to demonstrate that I at least know how play an instrument. Thinking of playing the age-old Misirlou on guitar, thoughts /mu/?

>having to perform an audition on an instrument in order to take a music technology course
why are college music programs so fucking retarded?

>you have to prove to us that you're seriously committed to a field with no job prospects and massive debt after school
seems very reasonable

Sorry they don't want talentless hacks like you. Believe it or not you have to be a competent musician before you can be a good musician

I'm a law student, faggot. Fuck studying music. lmao, I'm not a dunce. Regardless, I've been playing the piano since I was 4.

I don't play guitar but it's best to go with a song that's a standard marker of skill that you can really crush. If Misirlou is one for guitar, then do it. I know for drums I did What Is Hip? by ToP and it worked out fine. They should be focusing on your playing at the end of the day, not the song
