Machina has a lot of quiet tracks. Zeitgeist goes back to just being a straight rock album, a bit like Siamese Dream.

Also Zeitgeist is the album that got me into the Pumpkins. It came out when I was 16. I had never listened to them before, but I had heard of them. I must have heard Tarantula on the radio or something, and/or I saw it on MTV2 at a friend's house. So I downloaded Zeitgeist and I loved it. Especially Tarantula. What a track. But much of the album is very good in my opinion.

I haven't really listened to Machina that much, I must admit, apart from The Everlasting Gaze, which is a pretty decent song I guess.

I dunno. Siamese Dream is my favourite Pumpkins album. And I think I like Zeitgeist because it goes back to the straight rock sort of sound. Gets rid of the electronic sort of stuff, and the airy fairy sort of stuff, for the most part, and just returns to a well-produced, heavy, bassy rock sound, with thickly distorted guitars, and screaming solos. That's why I like it.
