Killing Joke and Bauhaus have similar sounds but are a bit less serious. Start with their debut albums.

there's nothing similar to UP

only band I've heard that sound like Joy Division are Joy Division, but I'd recommend The Chameleons (Script of the Bridge), early Siouxsie & The Banshees (The Scream), early The Sound (Jeopardy), and Wire (154) for /dark atmospheric/ but yet entry level post-punk. Move your way backwards from 154 to Pink Flag, and try out Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (Your Funeral->Let Love In). The Fall (This Nation's Saving Grace, Hex Enduction Hour) and Swans (Children of God, White Light, The Great Annihilator) should come more naturally after letting those settle. After that, the worlds your oyster, you can give experimental spacey stuff like Tuxedomoon and Pere Ubu a shot.

Definitely try Television (Marquee Moon) and Gang of Four (Entertainment) for entry level but bright post-punk, and then use XTC - Drums and Wires to acclimatise yourself to the sporadic zolo-based new wave that you'll find in Devo (Are We Not Men?) and Talking Heads (Remain in Light,give this one a bit more time if it doesn't immediately click). Then, move onto stuff like Kult and Cardiacs for weirder zolo.

In general, after this kind of stuff, the desired experience is far easier to hone in on, stuff that you like will pop out from the first listen,most likely.

it's post-punk revival so you're a little right but it's definitely one of the better post-punk revival albums. A decent chunk of people here like to write the genre off but there's definitely some good in there.
