i think simmons is just doing this patent thing for publicity. he's not stupid. he knows this patent thing won't work out. even if he originally thought it could work, his lawyers would have talked him out of it. in fantano's video, he's confused as to how simmons could collect royalties from it. what he doesn't get is that simmons wants videos like his to promote whatever tour or album is going to be coming up. get kiss in the public consciousness again. especially with the younger crowd.
