you know what the two worst guitar feelings are?
1. forgetting a specific technique; i just sat down and couldnt tremolo pick like i used to.
2. getting inspired to play by a specific artist, picking up your guitar, and realizing there is very very little you can do originally.
ive been listening to a lot of gorguts and deathspell omega and i just have no clue what theyre doing. i cant really take in anothers music and synthesize it into something original. i feel like quitting.

Any body have any issues with notes on your instrument that just don't sustain as long as others? I've looked it up seems like they're called "wolf notes". My bass doesn't like any C note played on it, doesn't matter what string it's on the sound just like drops off when I play a C, but it will sustain for crazy amounts of time when I play any sort of D note.

How do I meaningfully use hammer ons and pull offs during improv solos? I always feel like they're out of place when I use them. How do you guys use them usually?

Any kind of buzzing or whine is probably a fret issue if it's localized to one area. Take it to a luthier to have it examined. I would also look straight down the neck to check for any obvious warping.

How do you guys feel about a 'meastro by gibson sg'? Apparently it comes with an amp and what not but I only want the guitar and will buy a separate amp. Keep in mind I'm broke as fuck and plan on using a distortion pedal so how will this probably sound compared to something about a $500 guitar sound? I hate that guitar. It reminds me of the first generation Guitar Hero guitars. I've never played one, but if this is your first electric guitar I'd recommend a Squier Strat. You won't be taking a gamble on knowing that all of the electronics work and it'll be a fairly simple upgrade to any of the more expensive Fender guitars.

My advice is that you shouldn't play what doesn't feel right when you are on stage, because if you fuck it up, the music is going to suffer. However, if you continue to practice, it will come to you, for me, it takes about a month or two from where I can comfortably use a technique in the practice room to when I can tastefully use it on stage, so don't give up. A more specific advice would be to study some classical guitar music, where pull-offs and hammer-ons are basically the only "gimmicky" way to play.
>>
>>73352508
hammer ons and pull offs are essential to all lead guitar playing
