why do people love this band so much? I think they're fine as performers but nothing interesting out of that.

jealous. Missed them last year and now they are playing bigger venues. I'll be out of town when they're in Detroit this year

I honestly can't tell if I like them or not. He's a good singer, but at the same time his whole vocal inflection sounds a bit affected. He's a good songwriter but at the same time it's all based around some cliched John Green type thematic bullshit. I enjoy hearing that kind of twangy sound in indie music again, but at the same time it gets incredibly boring pretty quickly.

I mean they're a fine band, but I just don't know why you would spend time listening to them when Jason Molina and Mark Eitzel have existed.

Pinegrove is enjoyable in like an amateur way, it's like a bunch of 16 year olds really enjoyed Drive By Truckers, while listening to SDRE and tried to experiment with both sounds
