I think James Chance is more fun to listen to, but DNA was definitely the only important artist to come from that scene.

But DNA was a lot more immediately influential, Branca's influence only became apparent in the 90s when post-rock became a hot new meme. Branca has also been trying to capture the Ascension's lightning again for decades while all the DNA members went on to greener pastures.
