I love all the songs, these ones are just my particular favorites. Neptune and Venus don't exactly live up to their live performances imo.

Neptune I thought was okay but Venus really disappointed me. That one was my favorite on the live album, and though I wouldn't say the studio one is bad, it definitely doesnt have the same punch as the live version.

yeah I understand that this is far from one of Sufjan's more stripped back projects, but the sparse nature of Venus live was really just infinitely prettier than this studio version with all these electronics constantly worming themselves into the mix and deflating the tension that the live performance built through deliberately subtle musical/lyrical play.
