Why are rock singers allowed to be terrible, but as soon as a pop singer's autotune fails they are the scum of the earth? Discuss.

She sounds much different live for instance but in a good way

Cause rock listeners convinced themselves that the reasons they listen to rock music doesn't have anything to do with fashion and image.

Easy. Rock singers want to be "terrible". They assume the tone of their vocals as it is (not discussing if that's a good thing or not) If a pop singer's autotune fails then it was an unintentional failure. Crappy things are only accepted if done on porpouse. Low-fi is a thing after all.

How is Bob Dylan relevant to your topic? He's a folk musician, don't you agree? Both Jim Morrison and Bob Dylan were compared to Frank Sinatra and thought of not having great voices compared to him. How does being different imply being bad?
