I think he's one of the slim cases where someone's universal cred is absolutely deserved.
As for his actual stuff I think most of his Pop and Disco songs will stand the test of time.

Off The Wall is a 10/10 album, Thriller is great and Bad is pretty good. The rest of his album go from ok to terrible.
