Here's my top 100 as of yesterday. Yes I know the first descriptor that'll come to mind is generic, that's why I'm resorting to this website. Give me recommendations and feel free to share your charts too please

You seem like you're exhausting a lot of what new music has to offer. Now might be the time to take a step back, and explore everything made 40-50 years ago. I know people get offended when they see this chart, but just start picking albums out of the classics section. If nothing else, just start digging through the releases of whatever genre, record label, time period, or anything else that seems interesting. You're always going to find music that challenges you, you just need to find it, and give it a chance. Genres seem to be the best, because most genres have their own essentials charts as well (I went from Jazz -> Krautrock -> Post-Punk -> Shoegaze -> Post-Rock -> Jazz Fusion -> Funk Fusion over the course of 2 years)
Good luck man, hope to see you in other chart threads sometime

op here. thank you dude! ive seen this chart tons of times before but yeah, ill take your advice. ive recently just been listening to whatever friends recommend me, bot really paying particular attention to any genres or music scenes, more just going with the flow. alt rock is the only genre ive really explored, i think it's time to move beyond that

Can't go wrong with the lyric heavy, that's why some of the best you need is Raid Dogs, Pinkerton, and a few Butthole Surfers songs that don't get too experimental.

On a more personal side there's of course a grab bag of genres that are good according to my random ass tastes.
Eyeda and Abilities was lightning in a bottle that made a bunch of raps over lyrics that may or may not mean anything to you, but are sure to taste like metaphors all day. Micheal Larsen (Eyedea) died back in 2010 though so you'll not find anything new outta him.

If you want to have classical Russian melodies redone on a synthesizer by a Japanese man, Tomita's Pictures At An Exhibition is the rout to go. I like this because it really indulges in 3d sound and has this grand classical orchestra feel to it that's all done in tech vibes.

And finally if you're a big nerd for fantasy stuff you'll probably like Leslie Fish. She writes out these songs that come in story format, usually a bunch of ballads about heroes. This one is my favorite:

If you like the same as before there's an alternate for Sci Fi by various artists called Carmen Miranda's Ghost that I'm convinced Leslie Fish is on too, but this thing is an old passion cassette tape that just anyone could be on from that era of 70's game shop dweller music.
