Almost no popular music will be remembered; a couple will be remembered (more for academic historical purposes than for pleasure listening) however. Chuck Berry, Blind Willie Johnson, etc. Things like Sex Pistols, Sugarhill Gang, Joy Division, etc. will be remembered by a handful of enthusiasts who are into the roots of whatever style of the time is popular, but they will never get any serious academic archiving.
