I just don't get why people on here who care about music beyond the surface would bother listening to this album in the first place. Does that make me some sort of pretentious elitist/rockist? I just think there's way more interesting and worthy-of-your-time stuff coming out than fucking Katy Perry.

I know she's really popular so I'm not surprised or upset that people on /mu/ are talking about her, but man I just don't like the poptimist view that she's just as valuable an artist and as worthy of serious discussion as the dozens of others whose albums will hardly/never be talked about here.
